I have been working on a special project lately. Since it is a gift, I can’t say too much about it just yet.
What I can tell you is binding a curved edge is sooooo tricky!!!! I think I had sewed and taken it apart for like eight or nine times before I came up with something that was acceptable…. As you can see in the photo, it was still not perfect. Is there a trick to make pretty curved binding??
Despite that binding part, I’m enjoying the process of putting this gift together. It is a learning curve, and I hope the end product would turned out nice. Fingers crossed.

Did you cut your binding fabric on the bias? Other than that, I have no suggestions. I can't wait to see more of your project!

ReplyDeleteBias tape will do, and if you don't mind hand-sewing, you can sew the bias tape to the back side by hand after machine-sewing on the right side, you will get the neatest look this way.
ReplyDeleteYou have to make a bias cut of the fabric so that it will curve nicely around a rounded edge. There are many tutorials online on how to make your own bias binding. I learned it that way when I was making a mitred edge blanket for my baby.
