I finished stitching Pear Tree with just a day to spare!!! It was cutting really close!!! So far I’m doing pretty good on my one ornament a month stitch~~
Pattern: Little House Needleworks "Pear Tree"
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Fabric: 36ct Lakeside Linen Fawn
Stitch Size: 3" x 3.875"
Completion Date: 03-30-2011
I had a rough start on this one, because initially I used 2 strands of floss on this 36ct fabric, but it just looked to crowded so I took it apart and started over with one strand. The dark brown does not cover as well, though, but at that point I did not want to take it all apart again, so I just let it be. All in all I’m quite satisfy with it. I really love the green and gold of this one~
The one thing I changed on this design was only using one bead on each backstitched branch instead of three because the bead I had was a bit big for 36ct, and 3 would look too crowded. I like how it turned out, tough~~
Can’t believe we are heading in April already!!! We had some really nice weather here, hope your days are as sunny and bright~~ Happy stitching!!
Nice work Theresa, I just loved doing Pear Tree, it was small enough to get done quickly but varied enough to stop any boredom.
ReplyDeletehave a great week

This is one of my favorite from last years LHN ornaments. As you said, the colors in this one are really nice. I'm in the process of finishing mine into a pillow ornament. What's up next for you?
ReplyDeleteYour Pear Tree ornament is lovely, Theresa. I like it with only one bead on each branch and the fabric you chose is lovely with the colors in the design... Happy April :)
