What I've been up to.....

So what have I been doing since I've finished Heart and Hand? I've been stitching, really!!

First I've worked on the Winter Fobs and finished stitching these two little pieces~~ I just love the little snowman!! Don't you think he is cute?

Pattern: Heart in Hand "Winter Fobs - Snowman & Little Blue House Fob"
Thread: DMC cotton floss & Sampler floss
Fabric: 32ct Belgium linen
Size: 3" x 1.5" & 1.5" x 1.25"
Completion Date: 02-11-2009

Then I've continued stitching the needle roll piece of this set and I was on a roll until I hit one of the borders...... It required closed herringbone stitch and I wasn't quite sure I'm doing it right.....

After going half way through, ripping it out, and trying once again, I finally decided to just put it aside for a moment and switch to stitching my biscornu piece for the Tiny Treasures Exchange group. This is my very first try on a biscornu and I want to make sure I could finish on time to mail it out. It is going well so far, I just need to finish it up!! I can't share a photo just yet, of course, this will have to wait!!

Then my Q-snap arrived and of course I had to try it out, so I pulled out a pillow case to do a test run. Now I totally understand what all the fuss is about Q-snap!!! I love it!!!! Don't think I'll go back to the other frames ever again~

And finally, I hooked up my sewing machine to fix a pair of pants. Since the machine is already out, I decided to work on a quilt that I've started last July!! I did managed to sew all the pieces together so now I could temporally store my machine away and work on the hand quilting - that is when I feel like it, of course, and it might have to wait again for another few months..... ;-)

So that is what I've been up to lately~ A little bit of this and a little bit of that, but no finishes yet..... Some day, some day I'll have a finished product to show...... I hope.....

  7. Wow - you have such neat things going on! I, too, have never made a biscornu but it's on my list for after I finish all my pile of finished works!!

The snowman looks so whimsical! He put a smile on my face!

Your pillowcase also looks like a work in progress, though maybe it is finished and I couldn't see that in the picture. I have picked up Qsnaps in the store and they seem so heavy to me. My wrists get tired when I even hold a larger hoop. I have used the larger qsnaps for quilting and just love them! (Until I melted one of the snaps - don't even ask.....LOL!)

Have fun on all your pieces! I love seeing them

  9. Theresa, sorry to read you're having trouble with the Closed Herringbone Stitch. Here's a site that has a diagram on how to do it, then you can see if you're going along the right track.
