I was inspired by Staci’s pillowcases a while back and decided to give them a try~~ I picked a simple design cause I’ve never done this before, and although the original colors are beautiful, I used all red threads instead because I think they look so pretty on Staci’s works~ Plus I wanted to maybe make this a wedding gift, and red is the color for weddings in Chinese culture, so I thought it would be a good fit~
Pattern: Bucilla Passion Flowers Pillowcase
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Completion Date: 03-15-2009
I think they turned out ok expect of my satin stitch!!!! The leaves are more forgiving but It is so difficult to stitch a perfect circle!!!! Mine looked more like lemons…… LOL I’ll need more practice for sure~~ This little design is so cute and so fun to do, I might keep this pair for myself and make another pair for my friend~
I’m feeling a bit heavy headed today, I hope I didn’t catch the cold that is floating around…… I’m going to make myself a nice pot of tea and do a bit of stitching~ Maybe that will help fight off this cold~
I think they are just gorgeous :) Good job :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great job you did! I'd never know these were your first if you hadn't said! Lovely work, Theresa.
ReplyDeleteI think they are great. I want to learn these pillowcases too! Did you do it freehand? I never would have believed it...they look perfect. I think I would need the pattern ironed on. I hope that you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Your stitching looks lovely and of course the red is stunning!!! I have a set of these in my stash...guess I better get busy, lol ;)
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!!!
Thank you all for your lovely comments~~
ReplyDeleteValerie, these pillowcases came pre-printed when I bought them, you can also trace the design on your own pillowcases with a water-soluble ink pen.
They wouldn't look like this if they were not marked. I'm not that good!!! LOL
