Family

Hello my darling friends~ How's everyone enjoying their weekend? Sorry for my absence lately, I've been traveling back and forth between my two sisters' places helping out on my younger sister's baby and my elder sister's wedding. We are so blessed this year with all these wonderful events!!! My elder sister and I have been doing some crafting for her wedding, here is a sneak peak of some favors she had prepared. Can you guess what they are? A hint, my sister is a scientist!!

We've also been hitting the craft stores and fabric stores buying supplies, and when we saw this adorable giraffe print fabric, you know I couldn't resist buying it and make another little blanket for Annabelle~ Since she was using the one I made for her last time everyday, I thought it would be nice to have another one to rotate.
Pattern: Sew Much Ado "Ric Rac Receiving Blanket"
Size: 42” x 42”
Completion Date: 05-21-2012

Thank you for all your lovely comments about Annabelle~ She is such a little angel!! It has been so nice to be around my family. I am loving every moment of it!!

Hard at Work!!

I have been busy recently. Not with stitching, but playing and taking care of my niece Annabelle~ My sister just became a new mom this year, and this is my first time meeting Annabelle~ She is such a sweet little thing!!!

My mom is also visiting my sister, so it was so wonderful that we got to celebrate Mother's Day together. Taking care of a baby is not easy, after looking after her a few days, I really have a new found respect for all you mom's out there!!!

I'm still working on the wedding gift. I thought I would have more time to stitch while visiting my sister, but Annabelle occupied most of my time - not that I am complaining, I love hanging out with her~ Hopefully I will have a stitching post to show you next time. Enjoy your week!!

Testing Blogsy

Ok, this is my second attempt to write this post.... I've been searching for a blogging app for iPad for some time now, so I could blog while I'm away. Blogsy seemed promising, but some how I lost my last post when I attempted to post it online. Let's see if it will work this time.

I still find it a bit challenging to post photos, but maybe I just need more practice. We'll see how it goes. My favorite blogging software is still Windows Live Writer, too bad it does not support iPad.

Progress!!

I have been working on my “Beloved” piece as the wedding date is approaching soon. The main part of the design is done but I’ve ran out of the red thread, so I’ll have to wait a few days for my order to arrive. Please excuse all the frame marks.

I love all the small motifs on this design, like the crowns, one for him and one for her~ Filling in the white background of the date box was quite a challenge, not fun doing it over one. But I think the most difficult part is yet to come. The outer border is mostly done in swirly back stitch, I hope I will be able to get it done in a timely matter without many mistakes…

To take advantage of free entry during National Park Week, we went to visit Joshua Tree National Park. The weather was soooo nice and we had a lot of fun~ The twisted, spiky Joshua Trees were something straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, and the rock formations in the Park were just amazing!!! Desert flowers were just starting to bloom, I think it would be even more spectacular next weekend!!!

I’m glad that we had a chance to enjoy the sun cause it looks like it’s going to be cloudy all week…. I can’t wait for warmer temperature and more sunny days!!
