When one is so far away from home, friends close by naturally become your second family. I am very lucky to have such a family around me, who gives me support when I most needed it. One of these friends of mine is a great cook!!! Whenever we got homesick of some Taiwanese food, she could always magically turn out some amazingly delicious food to satisfy our crave. Every time my husband learned that my friend and I have met that day, he would go straight to the fridge and see what goods I’ve brought home with me. Yea, she is that good!!!!!
So I’ve always wanted to make her something, and I thought an apron would be perfect!! I found this awesome apron tutorial online, quick and simple, just the way I like it~~
Pattern: Ink & Spindle Apron
Completion Date: 07-18-2011
The fabric I used was Wee Woodland by Keiki, I know this is not exactly a kitchen theme, but thought it would work. I love how it turned out!!! I also added a layer of light weight Pellon in between the fabrics to give it a little bit more structure, and also to help prevent any spilling to seep through the layers.
One of the reasons I like about this tutorial is because the apron can be reversible. There is a designated front that has a pocket, but you can also use the other side if you like to.
When I gave this apron to my friend, the look on her face was priceless!! I’m glad that she likes it as much as I did!!
I was the lucky winner of Carol’s Watermelon Garden Chart giveaway, and have just received the chart this week~~ Carol has included a note with lots of useful pointers, which I’m so thankful for!!!! This is such a wonderful piece, and will be next on my stitching list!!!!
Speaking of giveaways, please do remember to check out all the awesome giveaways that are listed on my sidebar!!! Blogger friends are awesome, too, don’t you think?!
Now I’m off for some stitching~~~
