Thanksgiving…

It doesn’t rain very often in San Diego, but it was just our luck that it rained all day on our moving day, and just as we moved the last box into our new place, the rain stopped. We’re still in the process of clearing out our old place and there’re still no internet and cable in our new place, so we’re still running back and forth between the two places. Thank God they are only just a few blocks apart!!!

And since I have no internet or TV to distract me, and all my stitching stuff are still buried in boxes, I have been reading. I’ve just finished Kate Morton’s “The House at Riverton” and I LOVE it!!!! It was soooo good that I couldn’t put it down!!!!! Now I’m working on her other book “The Forgotten Garden”, and I’m loving this one, too!!!! It is keeping me good company~~

Thanksgiving has arrived here in the US, and we will be out traveling. I don’t know what we were thinking, going away right after our move!!!! I’m sure I’ll be sore all over when I come back from our trip!!!! For those who celebrate Thanksgiving, wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!!!

Chaos!!

Just popping in to say hi!! Moving day is near and our home is a mess right now, with boxes everywhere, which is driving me crazy!! If only moving could be as simple as the picture below, then I won’t have to pack….

We won’t have cable and internet for 10 days after our move…. What am I going to do with myself?!

Autumn

For me, loving giraffe is really a blessing. I have been told by many friends that whenever they see something giraffe, they would think of me. I am always touched by this, and forever be grateful for all the friendships connected by this graceful animal. Nicole surprised me by this notebook and card set, with beautiful black and amber beads. They are totally me, and I’m sure every time I look at them, I would be thinking of her. Thank you so much, Nicole~~~

I will be moving again soon. Yes, it seems that I would not escape the fate of moving every year, and I know this move won’t be our last. With only 2 more weeks until the move, I’m still in denial mode – have not even started packing yet. I know I will regret this later, but I just wanted to enjoy a few more days with things in order. So if I do not pop up in blogger land the next few weeks, you know I am buried in boxes and chaos – hopefully won’t be long.

Before I leave, I would like to share with you a little taste of autumn. It’s the time of persimmons again - so sweet, so bountiful~

Pumpkin!?

Finally, a finish!!!!! It has been so long since I finished something, and really needed a break from all these big projects. So I decided to make this little pumpkin designed by Gazette94, who has so many fabulous freebie designs on her blog~

IMG_9355 copy
Pattern: Gazette94 "Pumpkin Freebie"
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Fabric: 18ct oatmeal aida by Regency Mills
Finished Size: 1.5"x1.5"
Completion Date: 11-04-2010

It is tiny, only 1.5” tall. Maybe it’s the golden color I chose, or maybe it is the diamond  pattern, when I show this little thing to DH, the first thing he said was “what a cute pineapple!!” So what do you think, is it a pumpkin or more a pineapple? No matter what it is, I still think it’s adorable~~
