Can you believe it’s July already?! This year seems to fly by so fast!!!! I can’t believe its half gone already and before you know it, we’re going to be preparing for Christmas again… Better enjoy the summer while we can!!!
I did made a small finish this week. After seeing so many beautifully made heart ornaments out there, I really want to try making one myself, so this is kind of an experiment for me.
Pattern: “Coeur printemps”
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Fabric: 28ct Irish linen in tea
Finished Size: 5.5” x 5.5”
Finishing Date: 06-28-2010
I have to say it was kind of tricky!! I had to hand sew the edges first and when I try to turn it right side out, the top part kept bundling up on me. After several attempts I finally figured out that the trick was to snip the edges before turning it over. It still looks a bit lopsided, though…. So may I ask all you crafty minds out there what’s the secret of making a perfect heart?
I know it’s not spring anymore but I love those little bunnies~~ Sometimes I can see a bunch of them having dinner on the lawn during my evening walks. I also like the bright greens and pinks. It’s very……spring!!! I was lucky to find a perfect pink fabric for the backing. I can’t remember where I found this freebie design. If anyone knows please let me know so I can include the link.
Edit 07-04-2010: I’ve added the link for this freebie. Just go to this link and click on “GRILLES GRATUITES” on the left sidebar then it will show a whole list of freebies from Anne. This pattern is called “Coeur printemps”. Thank you Brigitte for finding the link~
By the way, have you seen Kaaren’s latest First Friday Freebie pattern? It is totally adorable!!! Be sure to hop over her blog and check it out!!!
Lastly, for those who are in the United States, happy 4th of July~~~
