The Wisteria House

Another happy dance~ Well, I actually cheated on this one, since I’ve started it back in 2009 and got all the stitching done, but was intimidated by the assembling. So it waited this many years before seeing the light again, and I finally have the courage to put them together. It is not perfect, but I am happy with the result!!

Pattern: 3D Cross Stitch by Meg Evershed “Wisteria House”

Finished Size: 1.75”L x 1.5”W x 3.5”H

I love purple, and I love Wisteria, so if this house is real, I would be living in it!!!! Still thinking if I want to stitch a ribbon on top. With the lavender sachet inside, it sure smells wonderful~

This is a really wonderful book, with so many interesting 3D projects inside. Who knows, I might be bold enough to start another one someday~

Stitching Time~~

Hello everyone, how’s your weekend going? Mine? Pretty good I shall say, since I just met my deadline for work and am being stress free at the moment~~ That means more time stitching~~ YA~~~

Although I had a lot to do last week, I still managed to do some stitching. Here is my progress on Two shall be as One:

IMG_9695IMG_9696 copy

It’s not a whole lot but I’m loving this pattern. It is an easy and painless piece to stitch, perfect for stressful working days~~~ I also love this Flay colored Belfast linen!!! I think I’ll have to get more of this!!

Also, do you still remember my little house project? Well, I haven’t forgot about it. I did worked on it a little bit and it is starting to take shape. I hope I’ll be able to work on it more this week and MAYBE finish it at the end of July……

I’ve also done something extra this past Wednesday but I’m not quite done with it yet, so I’ll wait a little bit to show you that one~~

And now for my tomato update!! Thank you for all your suggestions on saving my tomato, and I did take Vonna’s advice of taking them all down and put them in a paper bag. And it worked!!! Although some of them are rather small, they do start to turn red!!! I’m so happy!!!

And now my other tomato plant is starting to ripe as well~~ We will have plenty to eat for the next few weeks~~~~

Floss Ring Tag Exchange and Wisteria House Update

Nicole has informed me that the floss ring tag I made for her for the Tiny Treasures Exchange has safely made its way to her mailbox~~ I’m glad to hear that she liked what I’ve made for her~

IMG_8590IMG_8595

Pattern: Windy Willows “ Early Summer
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Fabric: 32ct Belfast Linen in Bluish Gray Color
Size: 2.5" x 2"
Finishing Date: 06-03-2009

I’ve always wanted to stitch Windy Willows designs and thought this would be an appropriate time since this design is called “Early Summer”~~ I had a little trouble when I got to the whipstitch again, I don’t know if it’s because I pulled the backstitches too tight so it was a bit more difficult to do the whipstitch…… But I think the end result doesn’t look too bad~

As for my little Wisteria House, I finally finished all the stitching!!! I love how it looks already~ Now if I can just put it all together without ruining it…… We’ll see how that goes~

Fabric: 22ct Hardanger in white

It’s Growing~

Yup, my little Wisteria House is definitely growing~ Although it was almost a week late, I’ve finally finished panel 3 and moving on to the final panel!!! All the backstitching is really a lot of work, but I’m loving how it turned out~ Now here is a front door you can knock on!!

IMG_8610IMG_8619

Another thing that is growing right now is the tomato plant on my patio~ This is my first time ever trying to grow tomato and I have to say the weather here in southern California is just too perfect, plants just grow like crazy even with little care!!! Here is the very first tomato that appeared about a month ago -

IMG_8363

And here it is a month later -

IMG_8520

It like doubled in size!!! For a while I was quite worried that I would only have that one fruit, but this past week it suddenly is popping up little fruits everywhere!!! Now I think I have like 10 tomato on this plant, and 10 more on the other plant. So happy~

IMG_8529

Now if they could just turn red……

If you haven’t noticed, there are some wonderful giveaways going around. First off, Yuko is giving away two fabulous pinkeeps, and then Melissa is giving away a bundle of stash~~ These giveaways will go on till the end of next week, so be sure to hop over and enter before it ends!!

048 Mary Wigham

I’m sure most of you have already know about the fabulous Mary Wigham SAL that is going on all over the world!!! I just love this sampler and is thinking about stitching it. But I want to finish what I have on hand first plus I need some time to think about what fabric and threads I want to use, so I’ll just sit back for a while and watch what different versions all you wonderful stitchers have come up with to help me make my decision.

Well, that’s it for now~~ Wish you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Progress Report

Well, nothing much going around here. This week seemded to pass so quick with the long weekend. I’ve finished stitching my exchange piece so I worked on the 3D house a little bit more. I hope I will be able to finish this third panel by the end of this week…

IMG_8461

After working on this 22ct fabric, stitching on 32ct over 2 for the exchange piece was like a walk in the park!!!!! I’m not quite done with the exchange piece just yet, though, cause I hit a little bit of problem – I lost my partner’s contact info when I reinstalled my computer last week…… I hope I can get that info back soon so I can mail it off~~ I really need a finish here……

Nothing scheduled for the rest of the day so I’m off stitching~~ Have a great evening~

A Great Mail Day!!!!

Today is a REALLY good day~~~~ It seemed that all my packages chose today to arrive all at once!!! First of all, some books I’ve purchased last week has arrived!! I’ve been eyeing them for a while, and finally decide to get them last week. I think all three of these books are Scandinavian style designs, the two on the left are second hand books found on Amazon, I think I paid more in shipping then for the book……

IMG_8421

The funny bird book on the right is just too cute to pass!! Just look at all the cute little birdies inside~~ Aren’t they adorable?!

You can find more information about these books at Scandinavian Stitches, but remember to double check on Amazon if you are interested in buying any of them~

The next thing that cam in the mail today is this beautiful Gingher Sarah scissors I bought from Mike and Carol’s~~ After seeing all the beautiful scissors everyone had during Nina’s giveaway, it really put me to shame made me think it’s time for me to invest in a real pair of scissors…… I really love the colors on this Gingher Sarah plus it was such a great deal, so I just had to order it right away~~ Now i can say I’m a proud owner of an emblordary scissor!! YA~~~

I was a winner of Cameo’s daily giveaways, and here is the lovely pin she made. Isn’t this lovely? She is still giving away jewelries everyday so make sure to check out her site~~

Speaking of giveaways, Cindy is celebrating her 10,000 hit with a fabulous stash giveaway!!!!!! If you haven’t enter already, remember to enter before June 1st for a chance to win these goodies~~

As for my progress on the 3D house, thanks for all your encouragements over the last post, I’ve finally finished the two right panels of the house, and I’m loving it!!!! The Wisteria trellis turned out so nicely, I can almost smell the flowers~~

IMG_8397IMG_8392

Sadly I had to put this one hold for a little bit and switch gears to work on an exchange piece. That shouldn’t take too long (I hope…) then I’ll come back and work on this more.

Thanks for bearing with me on this long post, I just had to share the joy of receiving mails~ Have a great day!!!!

Ok, people, you have to go check out this beautiful quilt that Elizabeth is giving away!!!! It is absolutely gorgeous!!!! You have till 5/18 to enter, and don’t forget to check out her other amazing quilts while you are there~~

As for my progress on the little 3D house, this is what I’ve done through the week…

IMG_8373

I didn’t think it would take me so much time to stitch one section, but when actually working on it, I found that there is so much going on in just one little section!! And the color coded chart didn’t help, either, I had to look very closely to make sure I did it right.

IMG_8379

None the less, I’m loving how it is turning out~ It just might take me longer to finish it up!! You guys will just have to bear with me through this process!! ^^

Have a great weekend~~
