Away…

I will be traveling again for a few weeks, first to Japan then back home to Taiwan. To make sure I have enough supply during my trip, I’ve placed an order on fabrics and threads that I will need for the LHN ornaments. I think I’m all set, at lease in the stitching department….

I was super busy these past few weeks. With only two more days left before leaving, I haven’t even pull out my suitcase yet, and I’m the type that usually start packing like 2 weeks early!! Can you tell that I’m panicking right now?!

I did it!!! Well, Sort of….

While I was waiting for the first ornament of this year to come out, I decided to start on some ornaments from last year before I got all the materials I need for the 2011 ornaments, and I finished stitching Fa-La-La last week~~~~ It was such a fun stitch, way haven’t I done it sooner?!

Pattern: Little House Needleworks "Fa-La-La"
Thread: DMC cotton floss
Fabric: 32ct Belgium linen
Stitch Size: 4" x 4"
Completion Date: 01-13-2011

I know I haven’t finished finished it, but I like to do my finishes all at once, so I've decided to finish them quarterly. On this note, January's ornament – check!! My hands are actually itching to start the next one!!!

I’ve also did a bit of sewing over the weekend. A friend of mine picked out this fabric from a bargain bin and asked me to make it into a scarf for her.

Because the fabric was too wide but wasn’t long enough, I decided to split it length wise and added the extra to the two ends. I then used this cotton lace to cover the seams. This was a simple project, I sure love how it turned out. Most importantly, my dear friend seems to love it, too~~

I was very fortunate to have won Cindy’s New Year giveaway a few weeks ago. Since it was a mystery giveaway, I had no idea what was in the package. When it finally arrived, I was overwhelmed by Cindy’s generosity!!! It was filled with charts, magazines and all sort of goods, plus a lovely ornament she have made!!! Thank you soooo much, Cindy, what a great way to start a year~~

1.11.11

I brought my car in for a smog check today and saw the receptionist wrote down “1.11.11” on my receipt. At first I thought it was some sort of code, then I realized that was today’s date!!!! How interesting~ I wonder if anyone had especially scheduled to give birth today just to get this on the birth certificate~~

I don’t know if it’s because of the new year, I felt like stash shopping lately, and shopping is what I did!!

 IMG_0240

Of course seeing Bunny Hill Designs was having a sale didn’t help me stop either!!! I bought a few patterns and this pack of Cosmo Variegated Floss, which were on sale at half off~~~ Who could resist these beautiful floss?! I think Anne still have some in her shop but not much, so if you feel like getting some will have to act quick~~

I’ve also been wanting those lovely charms I saw so many fellow stitchers put on their works!! So I did a little bit web surfing and found that CR’s Crafts carried a few variations of this charm with a reasonable price~~ I thought these will look nice on the ornaments I hopefully will be making….

Oh~~ I’m not done shopping yet!! I feel like there will be more to come~~ ^^

New Year~

Happy New Year, my dear friends~~ Can you believe a new year has started already?! January 1st is not only this first day of a year, it is also my wedding anniversary!!! DH took me shopping all day and treated me with a wonderful dinner!! I was sooo tired by all the walking at the end of the day, but was filled with happiness. It sure didn’t feel like 5 years have past. I am very fortunate to have him as my husband~~

Well, guess where I went for my first stop of shopping!!! Michaels of course!!! I wanted to restock my DMC threads so I took the advantage of using the 25% off entire purchase coupon~~ After seeing all the wonderful ornaments you guys did this past year, it made me wanted to do it for this year. And have you seen the preview of Little House Needlework’s new ornaments? I totally gave in after seeing it. So this is the challenge I gave myself this year. Finish at least one ornament a month. I hope I can do it!!!!
