Fresh Watermelon

It’s officially summer. I can feel the temperature rising, the days longer. When thinking of summer, I always associate watermelon with it. Nothing works better then a ice-cold juicy watermelon that can cool down a hot summer day. It’s also a must when BBQing~

Besides the mouth watering watermelon in this design, those cute little ants were the other object that caught my eye!!! They just added some whimsical to the whole thing~~ With those shinning black beads, you would almost thought they are real ants!!!

There’s also a little black bird button that suppose to go on top of the watermelon, I still yet have to get it. But I think this looks pretty nice already~~

So how do you say cool in these long summer days? I hope it is filled with sweetness and joy~

Simple Joys

Jolene always hosts one of the most generous giveaways, and I was very fortunate to be one of the winners of her last giveaway. I’ve always wanted LHN’s “Simple Joys” as soon as I saw it came out, and to my very surprise, it was what I have won from Jolene!!! It even came fully kitted with all the threads!!! I just love the beautiful colors, and they are my favorite – purple and green~

Speaking of simple joy, my Hydrangea is in full bloom right now. I am so happy to see it so lively, as it did not seem like it was going to survive through the winter. I almost gave up on it when I saw it withered down to its last few tiny leaves, but now I’m so glad I gave it another chance!!!! Just look at those beautiful colors!!!

May you all find simple joys in life~ Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Look at this!!!

I’ve received my TTE pincushion from Miche’le a couple days ago and when I opened the package, I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! Take a look  at this beauty Miche’le made me!!!! Totally amazing!!!!!

I was quite worried for a while cause I forgot to give Nita my new address since I moved, and I’m really not sure if it would be transferred to my new address. Thankfully this package traveled safely all the way from New Zealand and eventually find its way to my mailbox. Thank you, Miche’le, I’ll treasure it forever!!!!

Nature’s Wonder

DH and I went to visit Grand Canyon National Park during the Memorial Day weekend. It was amazing!!! I can’t find words to describe my feelings when I first saw it, “Wow!!” probably sums it all up.

IMG_6926

It’s so hard to imagine this was all made by a river. Visiting this place really humbles me. This is a place one must experience it themselves. These photos really don’t do it justice.

There are so many ways to see these canyons. One can never get bored here. Even the same spot can be so different when the sun hits it during the day and during sun set.

Nature never stops to amaze me!!!

Johanna’s Blanket

Thanks for all your lovely comments about my wall hanging finish. It seems like many of you actually liked the knitting needle dowel, so I’m keeping it as is. Just like you guys said, it is pretty unique~ I guess this is another way to make use of the knitting needle, since I do not know how to knit!!! LOL!!!

My friend’s daughter Johanna turned one last week. I decided to make a blanket for her at the very last minute!!! Still can’t believe I finished this one in two afternoons!!!

Pattern: Something I made up myself
Fabric: Assorted fabrics found in store

I had some flannel fabrics perfect for a little girl, so I started to put them together. Because I was short on time, I made up a simple pattern for it.

I hand quilted the middle design, almost thought I couldn’t make it!!!

Then I took a piece of scrape fabric and tied it up~ I think it looked pretty cute!!!!

Sorry about the dark photos. I only had a couple minutes to take a few shots before running out the door. I enjoyed making this one, and I think my friend liked it, too~
