Happy New Year!!!

I have been busy getting things organized this past couple weeks so not much stitching going on, hence no stitching photos to show you this week. But we did went to visit the Getty Center in LA and it was fabulous!!!! In addition to all the art works it has in its collections, the building and landscape are master pieces themselves!! This place is absolutely stunning!!! Here are a few photos of the interesting plants I found there.

Happy Holidays~

OMG!! Christmas is almost here already?! I’m not ready yet!!! In fact, I just finished moving this past weekend, so the only Christmas decoration I will have this year is probably just a wreath on our door… Well, it’s the spirit that counts, right?

I did do a little Christmas stitching, though~ I stitched this freebie design by Zinaida on my flight to and from Boston. I knew I had to stitch this one when I saw it on Zinaida’s blog.

I did had someone in mind when I stitched this. My dear friend Phoebe is moving back to Taiwan after Christmas, and I thought of making something for her. Because of her, 2009 is such a productive and wonderful year to me. I learned so much from her, and I will miss her dearly.

Coincidentally, she also made something for me!!! When I saw this lovely gift, I almost burst into tears!!! Not only because it is such an honor to have something made by her, but also the words and thoughtfulness she put into this tool bag. I will cherish this forever, and will often remember her when I see it!!

Christmas is near, may you all have a very merry holiday season!!!!!

Sick…

I felt like I haven’t been online a whole lot lately. I have been busy busy, and on top of that, sick… We were in Boston attending a wedding last weekend. The wedding was wonderful, but I have to say we’re so spoiled by the nice weather here in Southern California!! Both DH and I got sick the first night we were there. Right now I still have a sore throat and constant coughing which is killing me!!!!! And of course I was so excited to see the bright and sunny weather again on our way back, then Monday had to be stormy and windy and scary!!!!! We had a couple of nice days, but it seems like it is going to be rainy again tomorrow and the rest of the weekend… It has been so cold lately, and no heat in our apartment doesn’t help!!!

I did managed to put in a little time stitching, and I’m finally done with the alphabet part of the Friendship Sampler.

I love the little houses and trees and the little birdie~~ So cute~~ The colors are really nice, too!! I just wish I can have more time and strength working on them!!

Well, I hope you all are staying warm. And take care, being sick is no fun!!!

The First Day of December…

Is it really December already?! This year seemed to fly by so quickly!!! I have been stitching but not very much, so I am going to skip my stitching photo for this time. But I do have some other goodies to show you. First is a needlebook from Patti!!!! Isn’t it adorable?! The design is from Shepherds Bush kit called “Be Happy”, how nice~~~~ And guess who made that lovely scissor fob? Patti’s husband!!!! So amazing!!!! They both are so very talented!!!

I’ve also received my order from Fat Quarters Shop last week. This was all Phoebe’s fault. She had to tell me that this Ginger Blossom Fat Quarter bundle by Michael Miller Fabrics  was on sale, and of course I couldn’t resist it!!! Actually this all started because I found that bottom fabric one day and found out that this was one of the fabrics from this bundle. Isn’t this the cutest bunch of fabrics?!

And while I was at it, I also ordered these fabrics by Wildwood. Well, I couldn’t let all that shipping cost go to waste, could I?!

I also would like to share with you a photo I took when we were in Death Valley National Park during Thanksgiving. This is Badwater. It is 282ft below sea level, and is also the lowest point in the United States. The scenery is just unreal!!

Well, I have to go back to my work now. With deadlines and travel plans and moving (AGAIN!!!!), this is going to be a busy December!!!! Thank you for visiting~~
